Participants in this training-of-trainers program will learn to effectively implement a learning-centered teacher-training program, which includes workshops, evaluating written work, guiding lesson planning and teaching, as well as teacher observation and feedback using an experiential training model. Their training will begin with an introduction to training concepts and principles that can be put into practice in their own contexts.

- Design, Implement and reflect upon learning-centered teacher training based on experiential learning, current adult learning theory and principles of reflective practice.
- Implement workshops that also model TESOL methods and techniques.
- Carry out teacher training workshop sessions that highlight the significant aspects of the TESOL skill areas of speaking, listening, reading, writing, and grammar, and follow the experiential learning cycle.
- Support teachers while appropriately varying trainer roles (facilitator, instructor, coach) and style.
- Develop feedback skills that help them respond to teachers with a mix of affirmation, probing, and personal interaction in order to help teachers develop their teaching and reflective skills, and articulate theories about the teaching and learning process.
- Assess teachers’ progress and skills and provide effective feedback on their performance.
- Assess their own training skills, identify strategies for improvement, and make appropriate changes.
- Develop confidence in their ability to implement a learning-centered teacher-training program using an experiential learning model.
