We offer opportunities for interns to teach in local schools as well as with teachers from the ministry of education

We have been hosting graduate students from World Learning's SIT Graduate Institute's Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages  (TESOL program) for 10 years.  They have done internships in rural communities, at our the bi-national center in San Jose, at local universities and community programs and with the ministry of education in Ciudad Quesada, San Ramon and Liberia.

2013

This year we will host 5 graduate students in January and February. They will be taking the Classroom Management course in January and then teaching in Liberia, Los Santos or Ciudad Quesada.

They will be teaching children, teenagers and adults in these areas and will also be teaching English to public school teachers.  Their internship will finish with a day long conference for public school teachers.

Picture
In January and February of 2012 we hosted 8 interns. They studied compassionate communication for educators, taught English to English teachers from public schools, took a course on workshop design and also gave workshops on teaching activities and methodology to public school teachers from our local area.
Making an impact
These 8 interns taught English to over 70 public school teachers in Costa Rica and gave workshops to over 340 elementary and high school teachers!  Their learning also benefits our learning!

Read Derek's and Molly's thoughts on their internship!

Please contact us if you are interested in doing an internship in Costa Rica! We can accomodate pre-service teachers and inservice teachers and create internships to suit a variety of educational needs.
